Sara Blake P/K/A Animal Sun is one of the newest, most exciting alternative rock artists emerging out of Los Angeles in 2023. Sara began her career by playing small clubs along the East Coast with her brother before making the move to LA in 2018. The name Animal "Sun" is in dedication to her late friend James Sun, who's life was tragically cut short in 2011. Blake released her first official single in 2019 titled 'girl in blue' which was met with overwhelming praise from the likes of KROQ, Alt Press, Music Connection, and Idobi Radio. The single was the foundation that quickly grew a fan base which set the stage for her debut album 'echoes of a dream'. Recorded during the pandemic and released on June 11th, 2021.
The alternative, 80's inspired soundscape generated over 10 millions streams within just a few months of its release which spawned seven national US tours with artists such as Kelsy Karter & The Heroines and Anarbor. With the success of their debut album, Animal Sun followed up with the sophomore album "GENERATION WAITING". With features from alternative legends DREAMERS, it received a higher critical reception than its predecessor.
Most recently Animal Sun won "Rock/Pop Song Of The Year" at this year's Hollywood Independent Music Awards.
